We’re always looking for new ways to stop using lots of packaging and to find the most sustainable choices when we do need it. A lot has changed in packaging in the last year and we want to be ahead of the game by checking what we’re using and testing new packaging. When we find any packaging that’s better for the planet, we’ll swap to it.
Here’s what we’re doing at the moment:
We use insulation made from up-cycled denim (they’re offcuts from the textiles industry, which would have ended up in the bin). The great thing about these pouches is that they can be used up to ten times. Just send them back to us so we can reuse them again and again.
We’re working with Collect + so it’s easy to return your insulation and ice packs to us for free.

Home compostable packaging
Simply put, this is packaging you can put in your compost bin at home and it will usually break down after three months. We’re using this kind of packaging for ingredients like thyme and sage that we need to keep dry.
We’re looking into using more packaging you can compost at home. Let us know what you think or if there’s anything you think we could do better.
Your deliveries might come in different sized boxes each fortnight. We don’t want anything we send you to be rattling around in a giant box, so we make sure your box is the right size for all your ingredients. It means we don’t waste cardboard, too.
